I'm a 34" waist, Large fit much better than XLs.Vents on the front are a great addition, but the zippers can be difficult to zip closed.Button fasteners for the inner pant keeps everything adjusted correctly. I bought 3 pair (when they go on sale)

I'm new to mountain biking so I don't have a lot of other shorts to compare this to. I will say that the fit was right. But I did take everyone's advice and err on larger side. That worked well and they fit me perfectly. They definitely do away with chafing problems but the padding didn't seem substantial enough to cushion the uh...cushion.Cargo space is nice, they didn't ride up or ride down or anything. Vents are a good addition. My only complaint is the padding didn't seem to do the trick for me, but maybe I'm expecting too much?

I bought these shorts on SAC so the price was right. Just to put this out there for newer riders expecting too much from these shorts...these are NOT impact shorts, those are different, these are just riding shorts with a nice inner lining and crotch padding. That being said, I like the fit(I feel it tends to run large) and the way they are put on, slide up - slide down, 2 buttons, that's it. I would've loved for there to be a drawcord of sorts, but I'm not complaining. FYI, I ripped the nylon with First contact on rock, but the shorts held together and I still use them. Full price for these guys just seems like too much, Happy trails!

I just didn't like the way these shorts hold together. The outer shorts just hang off of the bike short portion with a couple of hooks -- there's no buttons, snaps or sewing to keep them together. I'll do better wearing lycra and wearing a pair of hiking shorts over top of them.

I love these shorts. The removable liner w/ chamois allows me to choose what shorts I want to wear for the specific type of riding I'll be doing each day. The fit is large(which I love).
