If you think base layers are itchy and uncomfortable, take a look at the Mountain Hardwear Men's HyperDry Tights. These silk-weight long underwear are made for aerobic backcountry tripsthey'll wick moisture away from your skin to the fabric's surface where it can evaporate. The base layer is light and dries fast; wear it while cross country or downhill skiing and for backpacking trips. Mountain Hardwear's design moves seams out of high abrasion areas, so you won't get pressure points when carrying packs or layering.

These are a good, economical pair of lightweight long underwear bottoms. I was a little disappointed that they don't have any stretch to them, so this makes them a little less ideal for climbing and skiing, but they still work fine, especially as one of the less expensive pairs these guys sell. They would be perfect if Mountain Hardwear built them with a little spandex to make them more flexy.

I'm a little negative about these pants, which lack elasticity and are a bit confining. They fit too tight in the legs and they don't ride with you on the seat. And I would have done without the fly. Don't get a size too small ~ if you're a medium get a large.
