Kelty Gunnison 2 Tent 2-Person 3-Season description A revision of the classic Vortex, the Kelty Gunnison 2 is a simple, lightweight tent for 3-seasons of use. The mesh panels are strategically located to provide ventilation, decrease condensation, and keep you from feeling like you're spending the night in a cave. Even in the dark, it's easy to secure the aluminum DAC Pressfit poles to the individual clips for set-up. Configured with two doors and two vestibules, the floorplan maximizes the available living space. Other features include taped seams to keep water out and internal storage pockets to help organize essentials. |
Great tent
Brian B.:
I've had this tent for about 5 years now, and used it in just about every type of weather Utah has (which is a lot) and it has performed pretty flawlessly. I initially got it because I, like the reviewer below, am quite tall, and this tent had the space I wanted. I also liked the two doors, no climbing over your buddy to go to the bathroom at night. For summer, you can't beat this tent, nice ventilation and durability. Even in the shoulder seasons where it gets a little cooler and wetter, this tent still rocks, the rainfly is functional, and ventilates acceptably when set up correctly. There are lighter and more expensive tents out there, but for the money, you can't beat this one.
Bang For The Buck

Bought this tent for backpacking. Lots of room, great rain protection, fairly light and compact, easy to assemble, need I say more? Fairly priced! One of the best in my opinion.
Good overall
brooke.zumas2249800:
I got this tent for a backpacking trip in Alaska. It was the summer so the cold wasn't a problem. The tent is very easy to set up and you can do it in just a couple minutes. There was light drizzle a few times while I camped but nothing much, so I can't comment on the effectiveness of the rainfly. One slightly annoying design for me is that the door bottoms are high enough off the ground where you have to really step into the tent... I caught my foot on the tent about 90% of the time I got in and out of it. No harm done, but I was grunting a little after the third time. Also, this is completely personal preference, but I don't think I like the clear area on the tent and rainfly. I felt like people could see in and one morning I sat up and actually saw a moose a few feet away, looking at me through the clear area. That was pretty cool, but I didn't really feel the same as strangers were strolling by to their own tents. Overall though, the tent did everything I needed it to. Next I'll have to test it with me and another person.
