It comes in a foil package that stands up on its own for easy eating and cooking.

Unless you have your personal chef accompany you on your backpacking trips & prepare meals for you, this is a suitable replacement. The innovative packaging allows for more efficient packing. Food is the only thing in you pack that decreases in both size & weight. Now if they could only invent an edible container!

This is among the good ones. The lasagna is one of my favorites. You can't go wrong with mountain house.

The lasagna was really good, it was a little bit soupy but that wasn't a problem for us. I am sure if you just let it sit a little longer and let some of the water evaporate it would be fine. The flavor was great though!!
