Although great once you've got these poles extended, getting them to tighten is a pain. I was backcountry hiking in the NC mountains and trying to get one of the poles to tighten when I just happened to run into a guy with the same poles who showed me how to adjust the poles from inside. This works about 1/2 the time. If I were to order again, I'd find some with a different locking mechanism.

They did the job during my most recent backpacking trip. I didn't have problems with them, which is a compliment, I guess.
